Rubber-steel gaskets
Rubber-steel gaskets for pipeline construction
Rubber-steel flange gaskets from Kroll & Ziller are used for the secure sealing of flange connections in all areas of pipeline construction. The use of rubber-steel gaskets is particularly recommended for applications where asecure sealing with low surface pressure is required.
The rubber-steel flange gaskets have a steel insert vulcanized into an elastomeric material. During vulcanization, extreme adhesion is achieved between the steel core and the rubber coating. Even under the highest stresses, this makes it impossible to shift, detach or blow out.
The gaskets have a wide range of uses depending on the elastomer in question and are suitable for water, steam, gas, air, acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, among other things, with operating temperatures of up to approx. 200 °C being possible. Rubber-steel gaskets are used as industrial gaskets and meet the requirements of TA Luft. This depends on the material and various other requirements, such as the application in the drinking water, gas, food, etc. sector.

Variants of rubber-steel gaskets
Various elastomers are available for our rubber-steel gaskets and industrial gaskets:
NBR-DUO-EL
(Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber)
NBR-DUO-EL certified for drinking water and gas supply in accordance with the applicable standards and regulations.
EPDM-EL
With certification for drinking water according to DIN-EN-681-1, as well as further requirements in the automotive industry up to power plant and air conditioning technology.
EPDM
(Ethylene propylene diene rubber)
Thanks to its excellent chemical resistance and good strength values, EPDM is used in almost all areas – from vehicle construction and the building industry to conveyor belts, industrial hoses and flexible piping.
HNBR
(Hydrogenatedacrylonitrile butadiene rubber)
Due to the very good aging resistance and mechanical strength, this material is particularly suitable for use at high temperatures and mechanical loads.
CSM
(Chlorosulfonated polyethylene)
The chlorine in the CSM provides good flame retardancy and mineral oil resistance. CSM is also characterized by good chemical resistance.
CR
(Chloroprenerubber)
This material is used in particular where high resistance to oils, greases, low temperatures, embrittlement and the effects of weather and ozone are required.
BIIR
(Butyl rubber)
Very low gas permeability (air, water vapor and other gases), good resistance to heat, ozone, oxygen and chemicals give this material good sealing properties.
FKM
(Fluororubber)
Especially when high resistance to chemicals and high/low temperatures is required, FKM is the first choice. In vacuum applications, FKM ensures best results due to its good gas density.
