G-ST / GUSS
G-ST / GUSS in special dimensions
The G-ST/GUSSis a classic G-ST-Gaskets that differs only in its dimensions. FFG pipes made of ductile cast iron with cast-on standard flange, lined with cement mortar, differ from conventional steel pipes / flanges by a smaller inside diameter. If a G-ST is installed in accordance with DIN EN 1514-1, it would leave a significant part of the sealing surface uncovered. Aggressive water qualities can lead to corrosion and rust nodule formation on these surfaces.
The G-ST/GUSS, in the same nominal size (DN), has a smaller inner diameter and thus covers a much larger part of the sealing surface. This effectively prevents the formation of rust nodules. The inside diameters are based on the nominal diameters of common pipes and fittings. Of course, no other restrictions are associated with a conversion to G-ST/GUSS.
