Successful Testing of NBR-DUO-EL for Use in Contact with Hydrogen.

Following successful testing by TÜV SÜD with hydrogen gas (H2), Kroll & Ziller’s rubber-steel flat- and profile gaskets made from NBR-DUO-EL elastomer material are now approved for use in contact with hydrogen.

Development of the G-ST-P/OE

Development of the Rubber-Steel-Profile gasket with open insert for special applications up to 3500 mm nominal sizes. These gasket are commonly used in plant and tank construction, for statically weak flange connections, non-standard flange connections, and very large nominal sizes.

New Construction and Relocation to Hilden

After the passing of Senior CEO Dr.-Ing. E.h. Hans J. Ziller, his four children take over the leadership and responsibility of the company group. The sales and administration of the business association in Düsseldorf are discontinued. In 1989, a consolidation takes place in Hilden on Reisholzstraße. The new administrative, development, production, and research center for the entire company group is constructed and occupied.

Founding Kroll & Ziller GmbH & Co. KG

On 23rd April 1940, Kroll & Ziller GmbH & Co. KG was founded, later relocating from the former Upper Silesian mining area to Düsseldorf. Kroll & Ziller is now a part of the Ziller Holding company group.

The first rubber steel gasket

After the successful establishment of NILOS in the field of conveyor equipment, mining expertise and practical knowledge once again solve a new challenge: the first G-ST Ring (Rubber-Steel Flange gasket) is developed. The previously used fragile rubber ring is stabilized by a steel insert. The outer diameter of the ring automatically centers itself in the flange on the bolt circle. Additional benefits include the rounded shape and steel insert, providing better sealing performance and suitability for higher pressures.

The Foundation of Ziller Holding is Laid

Hans J. Ziller attends school in Leipzig and studies mechanical engineering. Seeking more, he completes a degree in mining engineering, becoming familiar with all forms of mining in Germany. Upon joining the engineering firm Paul Wever in 1926, a trading company representing technical industry and mining needs, he effectively applies his acquired expertise.
